Three reasons to look closer

Less hunting.
Better handoffs.

A repeatable check gives your team somewhere useful to start. You still decide what needs correcting.

01 / Your time

Review the exceptions.

Compare mapped fields together instead of hunting through exports cell by cell. For scale: 10,000 SKUs × five fields is 50,000 field checks. Actual time saved depends on file preparation and issue review.

02 / Your catalog

Catch what didn’t land.

Find values that missed the approved target and edits nobody declared. Optional pricing rules also flag issues such as a price below the item cost you supplied.

03 / Your customer

Show the work clearly.

Give your client or teammate a readable report with the original, expected, and actual values. They can inspect the exported HTML report without an account.

Your first check

Watch it.
Then try it yourself.

Choose Try an example in the free workbench for a quick look at the fixed sample. To follow along with editable mappings and pricing rules, download these three fictional CSVs and choose them in the workbench. Select Clear first if the fixed sample is already open.

Did the update land?

You’ve updated your catalog. Now, how do you know everything landed the way it should? Take this shelf. The approved price is a hundred and fifty-five dollars, but the export still says a hundred and forty-five. Let’s see how CatalogWitness catches it.

0:16

Choose your three files

Open the workbench and bring three files: your original catalog, the changes you approved, and the export after the update. Each product needs a complete row and a unique SKU. You can use the example files below this video to follow along.

0:35

Choose what to compare

Next, check the mappings. Pick the SKU column in each file, then choose which fields matter for this job. Here, we’re checking Price against the approved target, while Title and Status should stay as they were. Set Price to decimal, so ninety-five and ninety-five point zero zero count as the same value.

0:55

Find what needs attention

Now click Verify changes. Six products, three fields, eighteen checks. Two changes landed. Here’s the missed shelf price. And here, a product unexpectedly became a draft. The exception view puts the issues together, so you know where to look.

1:11

Correct, export and recheck

This is where the value comes in. You can focus on exceptions, get the catalog details right, and show your client exactly what you checked. Make any corrections in your store, export again, and run the check again.

1:24

Add your pricing rules

You can go further with your own pricing rules. Set a minimum price, check against supplied costs or compare-at prices, or limit the percentage change. You choose the thresholds. A price can match the brief and still fail one of your rules.

1:41

See the client handoff

Here’s the handoff. The report shows the values before the work, what you expected, and what actually came back. Professional gives you printable HTML, a CSV of the findings, and a JSON record. Your client can open the HTML report without an account.

Buy once. Use it again.

Try the comparison free. If it fits your workflow, Professional is a hundred and ninety-nine dollars once, for one business and up to three people. Download and back up the current version, unzip it, and open the HTML workbench. It’s yours to reuse offline, within the published limits.

The demonstration uses fictional sample products and synthetic narration. For supported formats, blank-cell behavior, comparison scope, and processing limits, keep the full product guide nearby.
